1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using MailCalm (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
MailCalm is a free tool that connects to your Google Gmail account via OAuth and, with your explicit approval, moves old read emails to Gmail Trash. You can run cleanup manually or turn on the optional schedule. No emails are permanently deleted; they remain in Trash for Google's standard 30-day recovery window.
3. Eligibility
You must have a valid Google account to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are the authorized owner or user of the Gmail account you connect.
4. Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for configuring protected labels and age thresholds correctly before activating cleanup.
- You are responsible for reviewing the preview before confirming cleanup.
- You acknowledge that emails moved to Trash will be permanently deleted by Google after 30 days if not restored.
- You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
5. Google OAuth and Data Access
The Service requests the gmail.modify OAuth scope to review matching Gmail messages and move qualifying messages to Trash within your account. This permission is granted directly to a Google Apps Script project that runs under your own Google account — no email data is transmitted to or stored on any external server operated by us.
You can revoke this access at any time via Google Account Security Settings.
6. Data Retention
The Service stores only the minimum operational data needed to function: your protected label preferences, age threshold, manual or scheduled run state, next scheduled run time, and a brief summary of recent cleanup runs. These are stored in Google Apps Script's PropertiesService within your own Google account. We do not store email bodies, subjects, sender information, or any message content on our servers.
7. No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will correctly identify all emails that match your configured rules.
Use the preview feature and review matching emails before activating cleanup.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to emails being moved to Trash that you did not intend to move.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in a competent court of the jurisdiction in which the service operator resides.
